Confidence Over Everything
Confidence is described as the following:
- feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust.
- the state of feeling certain about the truth of something.
- a feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities.
I have my own definition/mantra which is as follows:
I am the center of my universe and I have the power to impact everything within my sphere of influence. I create the atmosphere for #MentalWealth that brings abundance to everything I touch.
In my humble opinion, more women need to embrace this idea of Confidence Over Everything. It permeates into the belief that not only are you deserving, but the world exists to make your desires realities. The desire can not create your ideal world alone, there is work involved, but simply believing that it is possible allows for a sense of freedom that a lot of women do not readily embrace.
As a Life Stylist, my goal is to show women how much more they are capable of when they realize they can become what and who they see in their best version of themselves. Women often put limiting beliefs on themselves. We tend to identify as role players or even portray the role as an extra in someone else’s story.
What would happen if we turned the tables and wrote a different narrative? Maybe the story of being someone’s mother, wife, girlfriend, daughter, or significant other is not the real story. The plot thickens when looking at ourselves as the main character and everyone belongs “to us” instead of the other way around.
This is not a new feminist manifesto, but it is a wake-up call to everyone who has been playing small in their own life. Let the planets revolve around you dear because you are the center of the universe. You’re not his/hers/theirs ______fill in the blank. They are yours. Own that and see how much more powerful you feel when you introduce yourself to yourself again.
The perspective is what is important when we see ourselves as confident in spaces that would try to tell us differently. The mindset plays a huge role in how we see ourselves, especially if we were not brought up to be confident, or if we have allowed our lives to take the confidence away from us.
So, my solution for becoming a more confident woman is to first believe that you can be and you want to be and to know that the world is yours.
